Animals are living things. Animals live in many different places called habitats. Some animals live on land. Dogs, cats, and kangaroos live on land. Some animals live in water. Fish, whales, and turtles live in oceans, rivers, and seas. Some animals live in trees. Birds and monkeys live in trees to stay safe. Animals need food, water, and a safe place to live. Their habitat helps them get what they need. If animals lose their habitat, they may not survive. That is why we must protect animal homes.
